This group was a pseudonym for 80s pop group XTC in order to serve as an outlet to create songs that served as a tribute (some say parody) of 60s psychedlic pop. They nailed it perfectly, as every song on Chips From the Chocolate Fireball, the collection of their two EPs as The Dukes of Stratosphear, sound like they were standout products of the 60s pop movement. From the melodies, to the tongue in cheek lyrics, to the far out sound effects, to the vocal harmonies the whole albums brings reminders of The Beatles and Beach Boys...without managing to sound like cheap imitations.
