The Gun Club - "Fire of Love"

Fire of Love Posted by Hello

I just started getting into The Gun Club recently, and I'm disappointed that I was ignorant to such a great band for such a long time. Lead by Jeffrey "Ramblin" Lee, I've heard this band described as punk and psychobilly, but I personally think they sound like what I would imagine Hank Williams or Muddy Waters to sound like if they had decided to start a garage punk band (it sounds awesome in my head). Anyway, their debut album Fire of Love is one of the few albums I'd call perfect, where no track drags any others down. Some of my favorites include "Sex Beat" and "For the Love of Ivy," a love song to Poison Ivy of The Cramps..."Layla" doesn't have shit on this. Although they went underappreciated through their career in the 80s and 90s, a bunch of their albums have been rereleased in the past year or so. You'll have no problem finding them on Amazon.
